“Hamkorbank” is actively promoting the development of female entrepreneurship

“Hamkorbank” took part in “Access to Finance is a key element for the development of female entrepreneurship’’ seminar.

Access to finance as a key element for the development of female entrepreneurship was discussed during the round table discussion that took place in Tashkent. The organizers of the activity were represented by the Women’s Committee of Uzbekistan and by the officers of the representative office of Asian Development Bank in Uzbekistan.

The regional representatives of the Association of Business Women of Uzbekistan participated in the round table discussion as well as the specialists of the country’s banks participating in “Development of small business and entrepreneurship, phase 3” project of ADB, Joint Stock Commercial Bank (JSCB) “Hamkorbank” was also one of the participants.

It is necessary to note that the activity was conducted in order to familiarize the participants with the results achieved in the implementation of the program for the development of female entrepreneurship and with the results of the project of ADB by providing “Hamkorbank” as an example, and to discuss the issues arising in the further development of female entrepreneurship.

During the round table discussion, Jemi Bowman, an expert of ADB, familiarized the participants of the activity, by providing the practices of credit bureau and mortgage register as examples, with international practices for improving the access to lending to business women. In the meantime, Dildora Tadjibaeva, a consultant of the project of ADB, told the specialists about international commercial banks’ practices of providing services for female business.

In return, a representative of JSCB “Hamkorbank” made a presentation about the achievements of the Bank in the development of female business and also told the participants about the activities conducted by the Bank in providing non-financial services along with improving financial awareness.

Based on the outcome of the activity the recommendations were made to ensure effective partnership with all interested parties in order to further implement the programs intended to support female entrepreneurship.
